I've heard about them wearing out eventually. How old are they? New ones are 3-4 week backorder rite now.

Centramatics do not wear out, even if you had a issue they carry a Lifetime Warranty. The only issue you will have is, if the fitment for your Centramatics is made for a 22.5 wheel and you install them on a 24.5" wheel the balancer will hit the valve stem of the rim because it is made for a 22.5" wheel. A 24.5" Centramatics is larger in diameter than a 22.5" one to alleviate that issue. It will work but you may have to modify the valve stem.

    dude6710 Thanks this.

Thanks, Boneebone - I'll give it a test fit on the steers - Ill hope your good observation on valve placement may not apply up front -
we'll see - your advice must be good - your namesake - my wife , of 40+ years is always right - Her nickname for 40 + years -- Bones

Why not go with Counter-Act beads?

Howdy - never yet heard of Counter-act beads - or is that the bag of stuff they put in the tire as they mount it ?
either way - I had the centra-matics on my extra truck - so the price is right -- today I mounted them on the steers - they fit fine -
now we'll see if that little shimmey after 68 mph diminishes -- thanks for the in-put Tom

Most tire pros always go with put nothing but clean dry air in a tire, but what do they know right?
