I was asked to quote a heavy intermodal container , inside more than one piece so to me its a reducable load but I figured Id check w y'all
can it be a permit load or no

NVM called DOT and they confirmed what I suspected. NO GO. Long w.end here I come

you bet. I wanted the run, I need the money, rates too cheap for my liking and I don't need the headaches or problems.

Yes its a legal load. We stuff 56k lbs of tobacco and cotton in 40' containers everyday
We have overweight permits for NC and VA
Someone who has time to look it up BUT coming or leaving a port a sealed container doesnt fall under the divisable load

kachup, Cetane+, SHC and 1 other person Thank this.

Fixin to say..... nope, not divisible. Customs might get teaked as it may be moving duty free and it can't be opened until in a duty free zone......... that being said I have no idea how Keen gets a imported hoe or loader from the port to his yard under this rule.

I know alot of states there are guys running blanket permits just for containers. Ms. has it and Ga. plus like losttrucker has stated. Coming or going to the ports there is a get out of jail free clause. Just need the weight permit. I believe Tx. issues them as well

    281ric Thanks this.

In Kansas you can haul a "sealed ocean container" with a $150 annual permit up to 120,000 gross.
