Writing Letters

I mailed a sympathy card at the Petro in Atlanta, GA in December 1999. It still has not been received.

 

i used to hold the letters until i rode by a post office or saw an actual blue mail box on the side of the road.I have gone as far as pulling in the center lane or even next to the curb in smaller towns (w/all my lights and flashers on!) and dropped the letter(s) off. smaller towns allow things to slide when they can see what you are doing and are quick about it.

I agree w/the one member stating to ignore the negative posters.most are jealous that they didn't think of writing an actual letter.also,you'll be amazed at how much you can write in a few minutes or a little at a time-

 

Post Cards work great for this, you can actually get them at the post office very responsible. Of course she will love getting picture postcards, because she will think that your thinking of her.

 

You get a pen and some paper and envelopes, start with her name... just don't use someone else’s name.

When you get ready to mail them, get some stamps and put them on the envelope.

Did this when I was on the road the first two years, sent my wife post cards, miss you cards and a bunch of other stuff that made it easier on her.

 

While your question makes me very happy I'm single and don't have to do stuff like that...I am impressed that you want to do something like that for your wife. I suspect your marriage will be in the half that works.

Walmart has cheap cards and stamps, most truck stops have postcards. Mailing them is an adventure in itself sometimes. I have given them to a mailman that was delivering to a shipper, had employees offer to take then home and mail them, put them in peoples mailboxes and raised the flag...etc. Never had a problem with them being delivered. It is a great way to let people know you are thinking of them.

 

I don't understand why teach cursive, I've never used it

I used it once. at 1 school I went to they REQUIRED us to write in cursive (for some dumb reason) and due to the fact I was taught different than they taught they automatically tried to drop my grades, but I was so disliked by the teachers (mainly because they all thought I was smarter than them, and they found me pretty annoying) that they stopped fighting with me and let me pass

if I wrote a letter to my wife/GF she'd break up with me. the guy she's cheating on me with will find it (men and women know how to find those things, women much better) and he'll get mad at her so either he'll break up with her or she'll break up with me because she cant' date 2 men at once

 

Trucking is indeed privileged to have a person of your caliber enter it's ranks. Students that are more intelligent than their instructors are considered an anomaly.Please share all that you can once you complete whatever driving school that you presently attend. Cb radios are an excellent way to communicate, and sharing your knowledge over the air will enhance us all as a whole thus enhancing our public image.

Regarding the idea that women,or men, can't date more than one at a time is ridiculous. why do you think the divorce rate is so high?

edited to add that i use cursive to make my daily notes as it is much quicker than printing.ALWAYS keep a daily log/whatever to help with your memory for where you have been and what happened and at the very least keeping directions to where you've been. I'll occasionally send a card or similar,written in cursive,to places that showed me exceptional professionalism upon delivery or while making a pick up.they will remember me and have asked for me in particular to return. That includes knee deep muddy lots as well as the newest,most modern facilities.

takes customer service to an unexpected higher level and makes the getting in or getting out easier each time.the gals remember as well.
