CDL Mill is so overused. Don't worry about the school just apply yourself wholeheartedly and the hard work/dedication will pay off

Howard Transportation is a good OTR flatbed company with 150 trucks. They hire new CDL graduates. They run 48 states and only have 3 terminals, one of which is in Kenly, NC. I've seen one of their terminals in Mississippi and it looked like they were hauling electrical transformers there.

lol...mine was $750.00 and 2 weeks long; 10 working days. The VA wouldn't pay for it; said it was too short.

That's what I'm starting to think, pretty much every school is the same just get you what you need to know to pass the test and the real schooling is when you're in the truck with the trainer.

My 10 day school was a long time ago; probably wouldn't help at all these days.

I chose Future Truckers of America in Asheboro, NC and I'm glad I did. It was five weeks of the most fun, hard working, nose to the grindstone, scary, intimidating times I can remember since jump school when I was a soldier. I graduated and received a CDL, good for four years and with all endorsements, and friends and memories good for a lifetime. Go for it. You'll never look back.

Check into Sage at Northern Nash Community College in Rocky Mount NC. Great school. Lewis Hall is the director. Great guy. Tuition is 4000 or thereabouts, 4 week course and I know they do offer their drive sessions on the weekends. Not sure about the classroom which is three weeks. Only one or two max to a truck for personalized instruction. Hope this helps.
