Deadhead miles?? Am i asking to much??

.35 suks period. Being new maybe OK to start but HAS to include all Miles

 

I very much doubt you will have it matched loaded and MT miles. But most companies will pay around 25-27c mile deadhead if you're being paid 35c mile loaded. It all depends on the company but I wouldn't accept no pay for deadhead. That let's him off the hook and you will be spinning your wheels, working for nothing.
The only thing I would stipulate if he's stuck on no deadhead pay is to insist on no deadhead miles or very little. He can't expect you to work for nothing in that particular situation.
i hope you can reach a compromise.

 

Ask your employer what the average length is for deadhead miles.One company I drove for,most the dh miles was in the same city I unloaded.Never more then 15 miles.If you don't think you'll be happy driving for this guy then look elsewhere.

 

If the deadhead isn't more than 25 miles then I don't get paid for it. Anything greater than 25 miles and I get my same cpm. Just see how it works. Most of your miles will be loaded anyway so just roll with it

 

No benefits? No pay for empty miles? Let me guess, you're probably also paid on a 1099. I'd be looking for a new job yesterday. IMO it's only a matter of time before you get screwed.

 

There's some good advice here almondman, sometimess you just got to look out for yourself and put your foot down. Don't let others take advantage of you.

 

I would go to a different company. You can make more elsewhere. Even some megas will pay you almost 40 a mile on all miles.
