Why would you put screens in your windows at night so its easier for someone to break in? Think safety over company convenience. Your safety is more important than an idle bonus. I see the point of extra blankets if I was an oo but as a company driver who's spending the night in green-bay, Minnesota ND,SD etc I'm going to be comfortable.Very comfortable if I'm not home in my bed. Just my $.02

Any new info about Millis? I cant find much on their website.

Whats the scoop on attending their school MTI? Do they have a time contract or what...any info?

    Are they hiring the graduates?

    Preciate the help!

I understand they require $500 to start and then they take $20 per week out of your pay once you are hired. There is a 1 year commitment to them and if you quit early you will need to reimburse the remaining money. If you do the math it seems like the $20 a week doesn't cover the entire cost so I assume you need to stay with them until it is paid or pay it off. I will know more soon because I am starting their school on April 14th in Ohio.

Millis does require the one year (or an additional $2500) and you have to pay back the other $2000 in $20 a week payments. The have S-Bar heaters in the trucks so you dont have to idle in cold weather (except below 10F then you can idle). The schools are good but FYI, The Trenton (Cartersville and Richfield have both) school uses 13 speed tramissions and the trucks in the fleet have 10 speeds. A little adjustment, but nothing too serious.

Let me see if I got this..... The cost for MTI school is $2000 + 1 yr commitment to Millis
    OR
    $4500 without any commitment.

If I choose the 1 yr commitment option I can pay $500 down and the remaining debt (of how much?) will be taken out of my pay at $20/wk.

Does the school cost include room and food and travel or ......

Thanks guys! It is confusing for this melon head, :biggrin_2552:.

It cost $ 2500 to goto MTI plus a 1yr contract. $500 down (covers the cost of hotel) then $20 a month until paid. If you break the contract you pay your remaining balance plus an additional $2500 penalty. There has been a issue going on with MILLIS. People have gone to the school, went out with trainers, been told they're doing good by the trainer then released by Mike Millis a few days later with 1 week to go. Do a search for there forum and you will be able to read whats been going on. I was scheduled to goto Millis on march 3rd for school but ran out of unemployment and their were to many issues popping up. I like Millis and would wait 1 yr before I decided to go there. I already have my cdl and so why get a 1yr contract and another bill.
Best of Luck keep us posted. If you need the website send me an PM and I'll send it to you then make the best decision you can and go for it. I like MILLIS but I'm going to wait or just stay local.

LOL......I sure got that screwed up didnt I?:biggrin_25523:

I plan on doing my cdl training local, then try and find the best option who hires right out of school.

At least that is the master plan......:biggrin_2554:........and who knows how that goes!

I meet a Millis driver today at my new job. His name is charles and he's from michigan. He answered all my questions, he's been there for 2 yrs and loves it. He loves his home time and gets it when he ask for it no problems he said. Its funny that I was going to go to Millis and I run into a Millis driver at my job picking up glass(bottles) that I bring back daily. It was great meeting charles and getting positive info about Millis. Plus, I know they can get me home if I went OTR for them.
