Anyone know how to defeat the idle shutdown on a 2012 ProStar+ Eagle with the MaxxForce 13? I can take it later to have the ECM reprogrammed, but in the meantime? I've tried setting only the trailer brakes, setting the cruise and raising the rpms (various levels up to 1000). No matter what I try, it shuts down. Tips? Thanks.

Talk to the company. They probably have it set to not idle.

Thanks, but it's not a company truck. Just got it and love it - except for this.

Probably need to take it to the dealer and have the program changed then.

I bought a new truck in 1999. The dealer automatically set it up like the trucks that the company I was going to lease were set. I was surprised when it would not run the speed limit over 65.

If the truck to spec'd to meet CARB emissions then it is programmed for that and you cannot override until you get the settings reprogrammed.

    DE36535 Thanks this.

Yeah, I actually just had the ECM updated on Wednesday after I saw a bulletin come out from international. I'm thinking the setting changed during the update for whatever reason. Under a load now, so maybe one day next week I'll be able to have some time near a dealership. Already talked with international and was told it would only be (cost) a half hour of labor (probably would actually take less than five minutes) but waiting to get into some of these places can be .... Well, you know.

Yeah, I've tried the clutch, brake and fuel. None makes a difference.
