    Truckers for the most part, are either very broke or very tight. Take them over, and in 90 minutes, they shoot there wad and want you to come back on demand, and carry their nasty butt back to the truck stop. Don't expect much in the way of supplemental tipping, either.

    Truckers who have to do 34 hour resets do so in all sorts of places. Many maybe would like "cab service" to get their dog bathed or groomed, or to a popular local tourist attraction. A dedicated "shuttle service" is best provided by the party who stands to gain a visitor who has money to spend. Not sure if truckers qualify. If there is money in catering to the trucker crowd [who needs transportation], they will meet the need.

    Was at a couple truck stops where a gal would advertise on cb to p/u and d/o with returns to movies, shopping, etc...don't think she had any sort of license just her regular car insurance, heck even the Amish have people to come and pick them up not sure if they are license to do it. If you treat all payments as tips think you might get around that loop hole, just need to be sure to jump around uncle SAMs pockets.

    Yes I do have for hire tags insurance and operating authority. I am just seein if there was a demand for this service.

    There is a demand for the service, however, the glitch is servicing everyone to their satisfaction. With one van, you can't be everywhere. And you don't want to run empty, if possible. So you drop 3 guys at the mall, then beat it back to the truck stop to find some more. You do in fact find 3 more people who want to go to the strip club 6 miles the opposite direction of the 2 guys who you're suppose to pick up 8 miles the other way that you promised you'd get. But first, you need gas, since you're running on fumes. Any shuttle or bandit cab I've ever used was usually a piece of junk held together with bailing wire and bubble gum or duct tape. If I was you, I'd jump into it and run my arse off for about 3 months and make some $$$, then bail. Because, after that, your van will be getting a pretty good beating, like a cab does. As a long term venture, you'll need a fleet and drivers and insurance/office space etc. I was totally at the mercy of the van driver from the Petro in El Paso to Juarez to visit the Senioritas some years ago, not realizing he went back to the Petro to grab another load. When I was ready to return, said van driver wasn't around and I thought, daym, it's a long walk back to my truck. However, he showed up, eventually.

    Wont work... Alot of drivers get to the truck stop and go to sleep... You might on occasion make a good buck but its going to be hard... I booze alot while out on the road and you might get a couple of drivers at the local watering hole but I really dont think its enough to make a decent living, especially with gas prices... And if your relpying on drivers trips you can forget it...

    Anyone know what happened to the "Old Gringo" who provided transportation from Exit 37 to Juarez? He was reliable, had clean transportation and would stay with the entire crowd until it was time to come back...meaning there was a set departure time from Juarez but the time was plenty ample.

    He would also intervene with Mamasita ( owner of club) if there was a problem you had. Really nice guy and trip was very safe.
