Knight is a really good company to work for. They are fair and they try their best to get u home when u want to be. Just gotta give ample notice for home time. I have a great relationship with my terminal and driver managers. The pay is good. I made $61,000 last year with them . The drivers who complain all the time about pay are the ones in the drivers lounge watching CSI or NCIS all the time. I am a trainer with Knight and I love what I do. I don't pass everyone. Those drivers are sent to swift and Werner! Trucks do break down. Some drivers don't care or don't gave a clue. They get sent down the road on the greyhound .

Since someone may ask, could you define "ample notice for hometime" please, sir?
Shaggy, platinum, Go-Go and 1 other person Thank this. -
Give them about a week to ten day notice . I have given them less than a week and they still were able to work me toward home.

I started to call BS, but then you said you where a trainer. 61k as a trainer is doable. Hometime is very terminal/location/DM dependent with knight. I'm out of the North Cal division. Our freight lanes get us by the terminal once to several times a week. Hometime is usually offered to me about once a week.

I tried applying at Knight a few weeks ago and it was an interesting experience. As being in Chicago I assumed I was applying to work out of the Joliet IL terminal. Then somebody called me from the refrigerated division up in Green Bay WI. Yeah right, like I'm going to commute 200 miles every other week to get home.

You wouldn't, you could park your refer truck in Joliet.Go-Go Thanks this.

You have to be a trainer to make $61,000?
Polarbear25 and Shaggy Thank this.
