Hi! Mrs. Stryker here. My husband graduated with his CDL in February and has been working for Nuverra in North Dakota since March. We have a family and he is working away from home, but it is SO worth it! We believe he got on with one of the best companies over there! They used to be called Power Fuels and that's what a lot still refer to them as. We also have a friend that has worked for them for a year or two and what they publish on their website is what you get. If you want more info I would be happy to provide it. He stays pretty busy, but if I can't answer your question, I'll find out or let him know to respond.
Just got my CDL. , looking to oilfield driving ,, any company that trains?

As others have said, there ARE companies in the oil patch that hire new drivers, and also as others have said - don't let "experienced only" on a website prevent you from filling out an application online. You have nothing to lose, and having been to CDL school is a big plus if you're a newbie. Some oilpatch cos. are less stringent than some OTR cos., and any OTR training you get won't apply in the patch anyway. You have a better shot hauling frac water or sand. Get a year or two of experience, and you can switch to hauling crude if you desire.

So a brand new wet behind the ears driver is going to be able to maneuver a 45 ft tanker in tight spots At a well in pitch black dark with the potential of damaging millions of dollars worth of equipment and potential environmental damage??
Theres a reason you should get two years experience; and those that tell you you don't are seriously misguidedMoneyCat Thanks this. -

I've seen these guys that come to the oilfields thinking they can cash in, and two weeks later they're back home. Fired or damaged a truck or a spill. All companies should mandate a 2 yr minimum of experience. before you jeopardize my life because you can't back up a truck to a tank do us all a favor and actually know how to drive a truck

My husband works days and is doing great! Some employers actually like their drivers new or newer so they haven't picked up bad habits from others. He was also out with a trainer for 2 weeks, which is the minimum and then he had to work with and be tested before going out on his own. This particular company does not just throw their drivers out there.
