Truck Stop Parking Follies

You know.. when I see a driver having difficulty backing up.. I do not make fun of them or video them. I get out and see if I can help..

Sometimes the driver having a difficulty is tired.. maybe they had a long and trying day... maybe they are hundreds of miles away from home where a loved is ill.. maybe they dont feel well... maybe that driver can back circles around anyother day of the week..

We all have those times when we just struggle with backing up for whatever reason... and ll we can do is laugh at ourselves..

 

True there are many times when the most experienced driver could look like a new trainee called Fatigue, we should try to help our fellow drivers as much as we possibly can thanks for the reminder. We need UNITY

 

Wish I had a video... Went into the truckstop to take a dump and when I got back to my truck the hood was on the ground. When i got out or the truck we were only two trucks parked, the other truck was 2 parking spots away from me.
Of course there were no cameras at the truckstop !

 

I'm sure people were laughing at me last night after it took me 3 different attempts to finally get into a spot. Gave up on the first two spots I tried. It made me feel better that 4 other people couldn't get into it.

 

Some days I can't hit a pull through....

Yep. For me, middle of the day. Nail it. Look like a freakin' pro.

After the sun goes down, especially after 8, 9, 10 hours of driving...Not so good. I'm grindin' gears like it was the first day too.

The other weird thing for me is, I can back between two trucks but trying to get into a wide open parking spot (or dock door) with nothing around screws me up. No real point of reference is the only thing I can think of why that is.

Jump to about 50 seconds in. I didn't see this happen and thought Roehl caused it by pulling forward. After watching the video later on I see where the fault was. I sent it their safety dept. They seemed to appreciate it.

 

You know when else I look stupid.. on the weekends we I go from driving my truck to my car... especially when I make wide button hook turns in my little car... lol..

 

Everytime I'm home and me and my girlfriend are going out, she says "remember, your not in a truck" lol.

 

My wife get embarrassed when I start to slow too early for traffic and lights.
