well i would line up another job then give notice
if your behind the leasing people will work out a payment plan to get you back in the black
you need to consider all your options if you are going to stay in this buisness
you need enough experience to move to a better company
and not look like a job hopper either
it was tuff on me but i stuck it out for 19 months
and moved to a $60000/year job with company paid benefits for wife and I
good luckHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Cranky is right there should be a good amount of companies that will accept you after 6 months experience. Do your research to make sure you find one you can live with, it isnt always about pay but a variety of things.
Wayne if things dont work out when you get home fill out as many applications as you can and let them tell you no and there will be plenty that say yes and then you have choices dont narrow it down to just 2 applications get yourself some choices and that way you can make an informed decision. Do not be afraid to ask questions to the recruiters as that is their job.
Panhandle you are right with what companies can say about you after you leave but the DAC is this industries dirty little way of getting around it. I do not know why as some are famous for putting failed drug test on it but have to be honest when they get that fax. It happens more than you would like to think. If you want to know what is on your DAC you have to call Hire Right. Just look them up and you can get their phone number.

I plan to stay at least 6 months (beginning of July). I have found 6 companies to apply to and ask questions. I am only behind on my lease by a small amount; due to frequent truck/trailer breakdowns and jury duty I had to serve, all that unnecessary downtime kicking my teeth in; but owing any amount of money to the company you work for is bad. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed. My only qualm with TransAm is that they push leasing on rookie drivers and should not do that. My experience so far has dampened my opinion of the industry, but I'm willing to give a second company a try. If that doesn't work then I'll go back to working in a kitchen or driving school bus. I'm not making much more than a bus driver or cook at this time anyway.

I only tell my present day salary so you newbies dont think every company is the same

Glad the weather didn't get as bad as we thought were gamma is...instead he just had to drive through Kennesaw a few times, right before the mass shooting and fixing to again but the shooter is dead now. Enough excitement already lol.

i know i am old and get confused easily
but were you not going to resign just yesterday for being in the hole?
-
Are you turning in a truck or terminating your employment with them or both? If terminating your employment the magic number is 13 months to keep you from looking bad. Could not tell you about your lease. That more than likely is in the small print . Bet that was an eye opener.
Next time any one is getting pressured to lease a truck . Contact OOIDA and have them look it over. They will tell you if it is good or bad and the pit falls in it. So much information available and so few take advantage of it. -
It's not so much being in the hole as I just want to drive the #### truck and not worry too much about the other stuff. And I heard going from lease to company with TA is a real pain. Also, if I knew this site existed 5 months ago I wouldn't be with TA. I would have accepted that offer from TMC instead.
