The company I am with will be looking to replace my 2000 Pete 379/C-14/13 speed which averages 6.5 MPG on 24.5's. At 70 mph cruise I turn around 1500 rpm. (combination of empty/loaded miles per trip) I pull a 48' skateboard spread axle, leave loaded (usaully the load gauge reads 50k-60k) return empty always. Currently has 765,000, with no inframe as of yet. My question is, what make/model do you drive, engine/trans type, and what MPG do you get? Are the newer aerodynamic models getting better MPG in the real world? Also, does dino or synthetic make a difference in your mpg?
For flatbedders!! Make/model/engine/trans==MPG?

my old t600 with a 3406e, 13 spd and 3.55 rears used to get 7.4 mpg
then new rubber and winter blend knocked it down to around 6....thank god its almost summer!!!
i think an aero cab flattop t660, speced with a cummins and 13 should get really good mileage -
i drive a 2005 freightliner columbia/detroit 515/10 speed/3.42 rears/ i haul a step deck and i get around 6

i have the 00' 379 475/550 w/ 10spd and i get 5.7-6.0 avg.,i also pull a skateboard.

i think your company should keep that truck. what ever they buy wont be half the truck you are currently driving. my 98 e model does 6.5-7.2 hooked on to a flat running at 60-65 mph. my accert wouldnt do that or perform as well. not to mention my e model had 700,000 more miles than the accert and i worked on the accert more.

what he said. you won't get better fuel mileage with a new truck.
