Is anybody running I 10 tonight? There was an accident this evening and the highway is closed in both directions between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. They don't expect to have it opened back up til tomorrow sometime.

Me, I'm painting today...very rainy, but before today and last night we had only gotten 2 1/2 inches ...I can't believe Pensacola got 21 inches in one day!
Hope Spring will be calm from here on out for the Midwest.
Living in Nebraska, I would have nightmares about tornadoes.

 

I unloaded last night in West Columbia. I was able to park at the Lowe's nearby for the night and was a couple miles away from a friend's house and was treated to an amazing steak dinner. Inch thick boneless ribeye!

Right before I got unloaded I noticed my trailer had a really bad tire that needed replacing and the frame rail had a previous weld that had completely split. It was at the tail so nothing was really compromised. But once I was aware of the two violations, I decided to report them for repair and not just be that driver who would dump it at North Cove for someone else to deal with. I even washed it out since I will be dropping it at Utility and it had combos in it. I will admit I didn't do the most thorough inspection when I got the load. It was hot when I was dispatched on it and I got there almost 12 hours after drop dead. Tandems were already in the meat hole. I pretty much just grabbed it, checked that it had 8 tires that weren't flat and two mudflaps then started hauling butt.

 

every place in the country gets some weather that we dont want
i dont want to see a tornado
feel a hurricane
feel an earhquake
or live in cold climate
i dont like bugs and snakes and humidity
anyone know where i can go?

From a driver's wife, I checked it out and as of an hour ago the west bound side was still shut down -

Right now there is an active shooter situation around Knoxville TN on I-40 west. The road is blocked and there is a very long backup. My husband just came through there.

Death valley has none of the above and snakes are in short supply, Hot but no humidity. And as a added bonus very few people around to aggravate , torment, and just bug you. oops there's a bug. Never mind..
