It's kind of like when I was a senior in high school.
I was 18 for most of the year, so I could write my own permission slips.
But, I still had to write the note to get excused.

When I look up 49 CFR 392.6, it has to do with schedules to conform to speed limits. What did I miss?

The link I posted in post #2 which I will again post.

Your post stated:
There is no DOT requirement for a passinger policy, nor are you required to present one.
I was just clarifying that there is and you have to show it. -
When i said that I was refering to the DOT and passenger insurance policies. If you read the whole post I specify that to have passenger(s) on board require written authorization.Last edited: May 3, 2014

I know. You contradicted yourself.
Most people would have seen that there was no need to worry about the DOT. and not have to show it. They only read what they want to see. It is why I supply links as well. -
So all this insurance I have and pay...It still doesn't cover a passenger

You are both right since you have to define the difference betweem the requirement in 392.60 and a rider internal policy.
The permission slip mentioned in 392.60 is mandatory. The idea of a policy would define such things as to when these transports would be allowed, how experianced the driver must be, time limits, ect. -
Not unless the passenger is listed on your policy but you might check with your insurance company for verification.realsupatrucka Thanks this.
