Given the same situation, experienced drivers, would you do the same?

    I guess the fog saved me that night. He asked why I didn't come in the scale. I told him I didn't even see the scale. He kinda laughed and said I better mark it on my map or next time Id get a ticket and let me go.

    I guess you can do that in some states, but I know Georgia always seem to have a long line on the shoulder going into the scale house, and if I get the red light. I get right behind the rest of them.

    Don't get me started on Georgia and the way they run their scale operations lately (especially EB W of ATL on 20). That is a whole other topic of discussion

    Hi 48, I agree with your other post, if the ramp is full, I'd go for it. And I've seen that sign, "Bypass scale if ramp is full". I think it was S. of Milwaukee. And by all means, get a dash cam. I don't drive anymore, but if I did, that's the first thing I'd get. Videos are the only things that hold up in court. BTW, love your handle and picture of the 48 Packard. I had a '50 Standard 8 with an automatic, first year for that. My grandfather bought a '48 Super 8 brand new in 1948. We recently sold the Packard, and I still miss it!

    So here's a good one ..

    In nebraska on 80 its a weight in motion , prepass says green ( so I floor it ) then the sign says truck must exit ( they tryin to catch me ridin dirty ) but I was empty.

    I did stop , but I hesitated . I was gonna roll on by. Lol

    Safety is the number one rule when operating a motor vehicle. You as a driver are the only person who can determine what is safe and what is not safe. If you argument is that you did not know what to do, then you were wrong. If you felt that it was unsafe to have stopped then you were absolutely correct in going on.

    I do not believe a cop would have faulted you. The fact that they were all busy and probably failed to flip a switch to give you the green was an indication that something was wrong. Therefore my son, go with my blessing, but sin no more. hmmmmmmm

    I would do the same thing. If you would have pulled in, you are creating a very unsafe condition and possibly cause a very serious accident.

    There is a lot of those in Nebraska. They also have a sign that says to follow prepass signal. I get that all the time. Green light but the sign says 'truck must exit'. The first time I think I pulled in because I was hesitant but I have never pulled in since then and have never been chased down. I assume the sign is for trucks without prepass since the one sign says to follow prepass.
