One of the best and worst drivers I have seen, Good heads up for the trucker but I think I would keep my lights on at all time , the truck sort of blends in with the surroundings but still that lady is lucky to be alive.

With a proper bumper he wouldn't have even needed to slow down. :biggrin_25523:

We got a bunch of 2013 Petes in and spec'ed disc brakes on all three axels. Used insurance company drive cam. Got one video sent to us on a hard brake on a fully loaded 80K pound rig. Absolutely amazed at how quickly the fully loaded rig stopped. Yeah, my driver hadn't been paying attention and was about to rear end a Honda stopped at a light but the WOW was how fast it went from 45 to 0 (the video records speed too). Like 45-0 in a car length. If Dude hadn't had his seatbelt on he'd have eaten windshield or steering wheel. I don't know if the rig in the video has discs or not but if you can get them there is a Freakin' amazing difference between discs and drums. No substitute for good driving habits and technique but wow, they are awesome in a hard brake scenario.

And yeah, I don't think his headlights being on would have had helped any. I'd say odds are heavy in favor of her being distracted and just not looking left before starting to pull out. I'd say she probably glanced right then started easing out, then glanced left too late. Might have been on the phone, fiddling with the radio, looking at GPS for which way to turn. Could have been anything but she failed to clear the intersection before entering it and I don't think him having his headlights on would have prevented that. Sorry Dude but I just disagree that driving with lights on in full daylight really makes the rig anymore visible than it is. Just MHO.

Some 4 wheelers can't see head lights at night.

    Ok , I don't drive ANYTHING !!!

Please tell me why you have to make a smart ### remark ?

I was just saying it looked like if the lights were on maybe she would have seen it. Seemed like a little overcast and the truck itself was a little dull in color.

i am very sorry I posted my thoughts on here and sorry I am not as smart as you.....jerk :)

    Have a great day wiseman
