Anyone that knows me personally, knows that trucks are just cash registers to me. They also know that in my mind there is only one truck that I consider worthy of distinction above all others and if time, money and legroom were not issues, I would own one.
The 1970's W900 long hood. W900A runs a close second.
Every time I see one, I have to go and look. And today was one of those days.
1973 W900 on a Sterling chassis powered by Mercedes. I'm in love.![]()

Ruthless and 7.3 cowboy Thank this. -
You're probably righty about the model distinction. Most people refer to the short hood as an A and the long hood as a long hood.
I don't spend much time thinking about it. -
Now that is cool. A classic on more modern underpinnings. Very nice....
-
Mercedes??
Where's the facepalm button. -
Thank goodness this is America. You can have a 238 Detroit in a "Crackerbox GMC" if that's your thing. Me, 359 Pete.

Personally, I would not pay to get this type of conversion.semi retired semi driver and Joetro Thank this. -
That looks like a small engine. Is it a modern Merc or an older one, like out of a 20 year old box truck?
At least the sleeper ain't from a Pete! -

-
The Columbia is a cheap, plastic box. I was not comfy.
