Where's the entitled attitude in her post? Seriously, because I'm just not seeing it. On the contrary, she's making a very valid point. So maybe my time behind the wheel will count for something here?
10 day training? Are you high?

You got it.Like I said Werner is far from perfect.Im not just talking about Werner either.every company has a poor training program that mainly uses students for the miles with very little training involved.Ten days training should only be for the ones that hasn't drove for a few months and needs to brush up on their skills but a brand new green driver, train them the right way or don't hire them.
-
and what is the right way for you is the wrong way for another driver.
-
Those ppl that think they don't need much learning usually are the ones that need training the most.

No she's not, she's pointing out that "water is wet". On the same note, some apples taste better than others. Just because they're both apples don't mean they taste the same!
I mean, if I was in nursery school, she might have a point, but for a "professional" driver, there's a serious lack of professionalism in her thought process.
Fact of the matter is, YES, if you drive for a company with a reputation for being truck stop fender benders, YES, other drivers will cringe when they see you pulling in next to them (especially if you're backing in). That's not a "false assumption", it's called "guilt by association". If you don't want drivers to fear your presence, do your due diligence and associate with companies that project the level of professionalism that you aspire to for yourself. -
I'm far from super trucker and did my training with a crap company. 3 months as a team. Anything I learned was strictly what I taught myself. I have a great safety record and respect my equipment. I could have went straight solo and been just fine.
-
Good for you and hope you keep a great safety record. But the majority needs proper training which almost every company lacks and then they try things to better their safety rating at the drivers expense except the training.Look how many accidents starter companies have and on a daily basis. Now a lot of that is from poor training.

I did 180hrs with USEXPRESS my trainerr could only take 50 in jump seat supposed to be 75 he thought it was enough to let me on my own what they call super solo witch was fine by me the last two weeks I couldn't wait to get out of his truck.been on my own now since April 4.they have me a 2010 387 pete automatic.good truck .Been safe, courtious, and likeing it so far. pay ok I guess 26 to 29 cents amile it will get better as I progress just gotta hang in there
pattyj Thanks this. -
Never let your guard down in this profession. In other words make every day you get behind the wheel of your rig as a professional and don't ever act like you're better the others doing the same thing u are.Thats when a lot of accidents happen.
