14L is not a egr motor. First two years they came out they had no egr. That was Detroit answer to the cat 6nz.

 

On 04 and newer already had egr.

 

You are correct. They started making the 14l in 2001. I thought it would have egr also but they did make and do offer now per egr 14l motor. It is the only powered glider engine from the factory that is rated for 550hp 1850tq. Even the 6nz is only rated for 450hp 1650tq as a powered glider from the factory. You need to bump them up once they are in to get the higher rating. The 14l Detroit from what I have read was an animal till they put egr on it.

 

When my dad was assigned driving a penske 04 columbia, the engine alredy had egr. I wish I can swap off my cousin's egr off his 14.0L.
