Patty, you've yet to make a case that Watkins has more issues/accidents because of their process, you proved my point by saying they were satisfactory LIKE EVERY OTHER CARRIER, your words. You have a bug up your hoohoo over them for some reason but you can't quantify your claims against them. Last time, show us how much worse they are with ZERO trainer time compared to those with MONTHS of it.

I really don't think you comprehend or grasp the whole situation, and instead of attacking the issue you attack patty? Really.....

The he issue is the 10 days of training, I think we all would like decent drivers out here who are polite and respectful to other drivers. Not racing through the fuel islands, truckstops and parking where they shouldn't.

The whole accident issue boils down to time in the seat and the likely hood that someone who has 10 days of training vs someone who has been driving for a year. The same comparison could be made between someone who has only driving for a year and one who has attainted 1m miles.

the bottom line is can there be improvements in training in general, yes, but it's the what and how that becomes the problem, what improvements and how long it takes, for some 10 days is ok for others 10 days is too short, just like some think 30 days is to long.

you can please some of the people some of the time but you cannot please all the people all the time.

    Did you have any "incidents?"

Asking her to quantify her comments is an attack, on what planet? I'm not saying they're better or worse, she is, I just want her to prove her statement. If that's an attack, I'm an attacker then.

    I said that.

Hogwash i'm not attacking Watkins pursay im just stating the facts as I see it.Why do I need to justify my claims when the proof is on the roads.Too many claims to put on here.Im not saying Watkins is the only company and the worst, every starter company does it,little training and hurry up and get that student qualified so we can make money.Thats the bottom line,MONEY,GREED.So stop with your thinking im attacking Watkins. Why don't u justify your claim that u think their 10 day program is enough training.Show me some articles on that.

It is my opinion that training companies have to do what's best for them - if they recruit good people from good schools, then training is easier and less time consuming. If the company owns/operates a sub-level school to recruit from, they must spend more $$ and longer periods training. The idea of having to train a person how to log, get fuel, where to park, how to find a shipper/receiver by using a map is ridiculous from a business standpoint - a person who really wants driving as a career should have done their homework during school & been ready for the fine tuning that a company will provide them.
A driver who really wants this as a career is going to be excited to learn, use the tools provided, and excel. Those that take months to train do not hold themselves accountable for their own future. It only takes a 15 year old kid 4-5 months of very limited practice to get their first license - at 21 years old & having held a license for a few years, the basics of driving (politeness, slowing for construction, reading low bridge signs, etc.) should be already part of their daily function. It all falls back on who and how they recruit.

Thank you Lowa, this forum you agree to disagree and some can't do it in a polite respectful manner which then sets the other person off.Somebody wants to debate with me not a problem,I can debate with the best of them but the attacking is just plan childish.

I did justify it with their FMSCA safety record, your turn.
