i have noticed that to be true of virtually EVERYTHING in a truckstop, except showers
oil, jbweld, cb's, anything in a truckstop is nothing more than overpriced trash
even the fuel can be gotten cheaper at an independent than at a TA or Flying j -
First off, I dont like the stupid auto record on power on. I want to choose when I start recording. Secondly, it doesn't me allow me to choose loop recording or continuous. I should have that option to choose loops and at what intervals or continuous recording.

While I'd agree on most of this, it's not always the case. Both my gps and cb I got on sale and have been good products. Though I have to say my gps is being a little quirky right now. It's really just a minor annoyance thing though and doesn't effect the major functions

While perhaps you don't like that (try a GoPro) those options on the Blackbox camera are just fine for me. You can turn the auto record at start feature off, and it will just record whenever the camera has enough power to run. The Blackbox will continue to record new segments as long as it has free memory to do so, and will only "loop" over older files when there is no more free memory. If you want fax-continuous operation, get a bigger SD card.
In reality if all you want is something that records what is happening in front of your truck now, it works fine. The smaller memory cards limit how much video is available in pre-event time simply because they are smaller... and that leaves very little for a personal-injury attorney to get back at you with. Outside of having to reset the unit every once in awhile or reformatting the SD card to eliminate a corrupted file, it does well for me.Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
i dont have $300 to drop on a gopro.
i had a 16gb card in the 4sight dashcam 2 and the blue tiger blackbox. i just dont like the options of either or how they work -
You can get go pros for 200 bucks. A 16gb card is really pretty small these days, though some of the dash cams I've seen only support up to 32gb. I have a 64 in my camcorder, which is what I'm currently using. The go pro 4 drops this summer sometime, probably either get it, or get the 3 black if there is a price shift.

ended up trying the Cobra HD Drive Dashcam. it was fine, till i noticed it started recording over my videos. took it back. dropped $200 on a gopro, then snagged a 64gb sd card for $29.99 on amazon, and a suction cup mount + a 10' mini-usb to usb cable. be all set now! 14 hours continuous recording in 960p. sweet.

Fourteen hours is sweet and dandy but my question is, why would you want to have that whole 14 hrs for? My cam and 32 gb card records about 3.5 hrs 1080HD in two minute files. It records over itself which is fine, because, frankly, there is a whole lot of nothing being recorded and it won't be missed.

because thats what i want. i want my entire days video because i also review it to evaluate myself as a driver.
i also have other uses for my gopro. hiking, climbing, and other fun stuff I do.bergy Thanks this.
