The other night I'm heading west on I-40 through New Mexico. I'm puttering along at my governed 65 in a 75 zone when I come up on a flatbed doing about 60. No big deal. I figure he is probably trying to save on fuel or something.
As I am passing him I am suddenly confronted with a blinding white light. This guy is shining some sort of spotlighlight into his mirror! I could barely see to get by. He even shined it directly into my cab as I went by so I couldn't catch the name on the truck.
After I got by him I tried to raise him on the cb. I wanted to see if he wanted to pull over and discuss what had just happened. The coward didn't respond.
No, my brights weren't on...and I did resist the urge to burn out his retinas with them. I didn't want to make a dangerous situation more dangerous.
Anyone ever have someone do something crazy like that? It made me realize you never know what kind of freak you might be sharing the road with.

So, knowing that there are total wack jobs out there, and that he was probably one of them, who would you want to stop and "discuss" anything? You'd likely find yourself staring at the business end of a .45, then tied up in his sleeper so he can have some fun later. I'm just sayin...

Unfortunately trucking is an attraction to not so normal people. As dog-c says there's always that driver detached from socialization and overwhelmed from the daily stresses of the road that he turns into a nut case.
Treat them like any other road rage case and ignore them. They feed off reaction.281ric, d o g, NavigatorWife and 2 others Thank this. -
Just wait until you see a 500lbs guy get out to fuel his rig...wearing a leather miniskirt, sports bra, stockings, and high heels....
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Well I hope I never see anything like that out there.TwinStickPeterbilt Thanks this.
