Finally find an empty and make haste to the shipper 4 hours late only to be told it wasn't ready at 07:00, now (@ 11:00), and isn't expected to be ready until 22:00.

Here in Des Moines. Mac 30 today kept coming up the same offer, Edwardsville to Roseville, and the only difference, del time kept changing so I knew plus 1, so kept denying. Then a pplan with the same load and MAC 9, said noon tomorrow. Tired after the last 4 JIT loads. Then pplan sent again later and with the new time in it so I said yes. Went to get the load and all of a sudden, the time went from 1200 to 0930, so called in, sent MAC 22 and all was cool. Get on up the road and another message, time back to 0930. Now I am PO'd, send a free form and another MAC 22. This time said not only accepted pplan with 1200, but it is a human driving this truck, not a computer that has no clue about mnpls rush hour. Now never heard back this time. I could have made it at 1000 but now ticked. I still might, but why the rush. When I get there, will have about 4 hours left on the 70 thanks for pushing the last loads. Do not like using 10-11 hours per day. Will not pick any up until Friday, all of 2, so I think that I will be sitting until Saturday. Well, I know that they have lots of freight up there.

Minooka Pilot..
This pilot traffic is crazy. Almost like a traffic jam in here and figured that Pilot was giving away free fuel or something but store clerk says that is the norm here.
Pickup in Joliet and headed down to Tennessee then picking up in Tennessee and headed back to El Paso. -
With our new tractor the PrePass still isn't working. Permits said it takes up to a week for PP to get activated, so we've been pulling into scales that are open.
Last night ran east on I-70 through the Rockies, temperatures down to 26ºF and snowing hard. No chains required, which was good because like a numb nuts I wore shorts (Hey! It's warm and sunny in Rifle!). Slick conditions that got my attention both up and down each pass.
The scale was open on the east side of Eisenhower, pulled in and was asked to pull over and bring in the registration. Everything was good, just a new tractor they didn't have in their system yet. The kindly gentleman also gave me a friendly piece of advise regarding the trailer registration, which was glued to the trailer (some of the newer trailers now have the registration glued in place instead of in the box). He said to just take a picture of it on my smartphone and they can use that to read the information necessary.
Just finished my shift in the middle of Nebraska on I-80, headed for a drop tonight in Wisconsin. Then we have a live load tomorrow morning just outside Chicago with a straight shot back to Ontario, CA.
Getting into the Denver yard was a bit of an adventure, and I'm glad we were bobtailing in to get our t-call. With construction shutting down the normal turn over the railroad tracks I had to improvise to figure out the new way in. I called the Denver number, but that gets forwarded to Phoenix after 5:00 pm. "How do I get into the terminal with the construction going on?" "I don't know, but I'm sure getting a lot of calls about it. Good luck!"
So helpful.
The Denver yard was a complete cluster. When I pulled through the fuel islands there was a poor guy trying to make a turn from the second row to get out with a trailer. Too tight to make it. I went in to get my t-call paperwork, scan the delivery, get some coffee, and took a 30 minute break. When I came out he was still stuck in the same position. I went to find my trailer and scout a route out the opposite side, hooked up, and when I was pulling out he was still stuck. Had to be over 45 minutes to make that turn and it didn't look like he was getting any closer...
