I think most here would tell you that they were grateful for the opportunity TransAm gave them. There is a lot of good and an equal amount of bad in the system that mega carriers have in place, TransAm is no worse than any other and better than many. If you go back and read about a year and a half of the posts on here it will give you a pretty good idea about the company and the experiences of the drivers. The first year of driving is hard no matter who you drive for, there is a lot to learn. One of our major complaints with TransAm is the shortened training period ....10 days, if you are lucky, out with a trainer. There are some excellent trainers,(and some that are not good at all)....but there just isn't enough time to learn all that you need to know. If you are a quick study and good at learning on your own, that may be an advantage for you. If you are not, then you will be starting out stressed before you ever make your first delivery. The reviews and complaints that a company has are only part of the story,.....we have tried on this thread to fill in the rest of the blanks. It will be easier for you and for us if you go back through and read this thread, after that you will probably have some specific questions that we can answer for you. We will be happy to answer any concerns that you have.
Generally speaking, most of us would say that while it was a frustrating and hard experience starting out with TransAm, it was valuable experience for us. -
I managed to get the APU to crank after taking out my frustrations on it. I really truly didn't do anything to break it, lol. Sadly I'm missing out on Depot Days, but will make plans to go next year. Deliver in Sioux Falls in the morning, then on to Schuyler, NE then Macclenny, FL. In Grand Island for the night

Hi, I'm a lease driver with Trans Am and I was wondering how to find my username and password for my Driver Central account. I'm trying to look at my pay stubs. I've been a driver for about six months now and I finally have a computer to use. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What a strange and frustrating day. After I finally got in a door, laid down for a nap. Woke up hearing some voices going hello, hello....!!!! I look out my windows and nobodies there. Start searching thru my truck and finally realize that it is my GPS unit. It has connected....... with somebody else's phone. Finally had to unplug it till I left.
Then...... on MY phone, somehow a digit got changed on my brother's number, and I was texting someone else. They were begging me to stop and just thought it was my brother joking with me, all the way up to the point when we were sitting on the back porch, and I was once again asked to quit texting. Gotta love these electronics.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -

Hello HTQ, feeling ok, 30 days since surgery and a little sore still but amazed how fast the healing has been. We will leave the Philippines and head back to Korea at the end of May and I will be back to work June 3rd , light duty

Still enjoy reading all the post old and new, great info here.
I agree the training is very short and with a lot of spare time I have I just read, watch videos, bought a 2014 trucking atlas and study trip planning and all the other info. Watch a lot of videos on Qualcomm and. People net , scales and sliding tandems and so much more.
i think if a person has a lot of this stuff figured out it will allow you more time on getting the driving training since you already know something about the other parts of the job, just my thought

Wow, that would ruin your day for sure. I wonder why this happened ? Anyone know the drivers story ? For sure bad planning but maybe detour, wrong turn etc. ???Last edited by a moderator: May 9, 2015

Not paying attention to road signs and in the wrong lane. In an arched over pass the shoulder lane is ALWAYS lower than the center lane, and he may have not been paying attention. On some major highways there will be a sign that at first glance say the clearance is lower but you will figure out which places those are. YOU WILL be going under them sooner or later and more than likely many times. Driving a truck and day dreaming do not mix.
Panhandle flash and dennisroc Thank this.
