Anyone know of trucking schools in NC that offer weekend classes? I know of Trans-Tech in Conover and CrossCountry in Thomasville. Any others? I want to get my cdl but cannot afford to go to community college and be out of work for 8-12 weeks. Would love to go to Davidson Community College but just can't afford to not work for now. Thanks for any advice guys.

I didn't know that about Sampson CC..will definitely check them out then as I live in Kernersville. And we just say K-Vegas. Much easier to spell lol.

Sampson CC is near Kenansville. Kernersville is near Winston Salem
I had a friend get his class A from Cross Country in Thomasville. He speaks highly of the school. Definitely more of a CDL mill then the community college route but that's not always a bad thing. I think it was around $3000 for the 16 week Sat and Sunday course....bbh777 Thanks this. -
Ahhh....just googled it..to far. Still, less than $500 would almost be worth the trek for weekends.

I got my cdl at cross country in thomasville nc . Yeah like ncmickey stated it is a cdl mill. I got out of that school without knowing how to do a straight line backup lol. One of the instructor is also the person that " passes " you on your cdl test. I showed up and he passed me without doing a pretrip or backing up the truck.

I may look at Millis. Lots of people on here have spoken highly of them. Celadon has a terminal here in Kernersville, but you have to go to Indy for their school then team drive for at least 6 months. Not sure if I want to do that or not. Still an option though I guess.
