I got a ticket there back in January for parking in the median. I fought it saying there were no sign stating I couldn't. Got a reply back stating if I was "actively loading / unloading" I was not parked illegal and therefor not liable. DUH!!! I was dropping vehicles at a local business, have BOLS to prove it, but because I didn't send the bond they wouldn't consider my request to drop it.

At this point the $100 ticket is now $200, and I don't want to send it in the mail- so they have my bond in order to consider my request to drop it- because I know these friggin extortionists will keep my money. I'm wondering if I go to court- where I STILL have to post the bond before they let me see the judge- do I have a snowballs chance in hell.

Just wondering if you guys have any similar experiences with municipalities running similar rackets, and how I should best deal with it? I'd rather give the money to an attorney than the thievin' City of Carson Ca.

    mje Thanks this.

Especially when I got passed by a city cop, a CHP unit, and a Marshall (I always look out for the bear) and NONE OF THEM SAID JACK. But the sneaky weasel rent a cop in a Prius snuck up on me....

I would check with court to make sure it is a legit ticket! There have been some scammers going around putting tickets that LOOK legit but are FAKE! They pray on people just paying and the money just goes to a private company! Beware of the SCAMMERS they are everywhere out here!

I have received my share of Parking Tickets in Southern California and have never paid one. I don't have Cali Plates or Driver's License so they can't withold your license or registration if you fail to pay and I don't give two shakes of a pig's behind about some of the BS Parking Tickets they give out. It's all about Revenue, if you're legitimately doing business there they don't need to harass you.

Stuff like this is why it's a good idea to have a prepaid legal service. Too many money maker regulations ... too many scammers.

    mje Thanks this.
