Fog lights

neither are the 50 chicken lights down the side of the trailer, they are for looks, if they are aimed properly there is no problem running them, one of our petes has them and you cant even see them over the hood,

 

I drive a 2011 fr8lnr. It came with those useless lights.I turn them on once in a while during my walk around just to see if they are working.

 

They weren't useless on the 2009 Cascadia I drove. Must be something with the 2011 models.

 

I like my fog lights they made driving in fog nice.

 

Drive a Pete 387. Sorriest headlights ever. With the fogs on, about the same as low beams. Of course I did take the time to aim them correctly. I want to see the critters before I crash 'em.

 

In some states 4 lights on when another vehicle is approaching is well considered illegal. The same as high beams. Personally I use yelr ones.

 

Yellow ones in my opinion work better for fog because the yellow light doesn't reflect off the moisture molecules and blinds you like white lights do but, the lenses of clear fogs works just as good for cutting through the fog by how they aim the light low and wide.

Fogs of any color don't bother me on a dark, clear night if they are of OEM standards and, the big one, aimed correctly.

Mine are, they are standard brightness, and I run them at night to illuminate the sides of the roadway, the areas that the headlights don't shine.

Sorry if I offend anyone with my fogs but, since there are so many people out there that just simply don't like fog lights period, think they are totally unnecessary and feel that since they themselves don't use them, nobody should, but, I guess I'll know it's you when you flick your brights at me.....lol. That's ok. I got Silverstar Ultra's in the headlights.....

 

I just wish I had my old lights on my new truck.

A set of Hella 8" amber spot beams.
They output 1 million candlepower each, and would light up the road like daylight for more than a mile.

Those idiots that never turned off their high beams got a taste of REAL candlepower, from time to time.
They might ignore me flashing my highs, but could never ignore twin suns staring them in the eyes!


In the fog they looked like phasers, and they practically evaporated the fog as they cut through it.


Those were the days...

 

If you have the "Silverstar Ultra's"....why the need to blind people. I can't understand why folks think running fog lights at any time other than in foggy conditions is warranted. It's not only not "cool"...it's dangerous. If you wanna look "cool" , get some little yellow bumper lights , run a few feet of wire and get a toggle switch.....problem solved...you got your "cool looking super trucker lights" and me and every other driver you meet are blinded by your ignorance and arrogance.....

 

I run them because my low beams are lousy, and there is no way to make Volvo lows any better.
I need the extra light to fill out my field of vision.

It's is a safety thing - not a 'cool' thing.
