Twin Falls Flying J in IDaHo. A whole 360 miles today. Running single digit recap for the first time, what a drag. I feel more like IDaPimp.

Were baaaaack...well actually just me for the time being. Long story short, I sold our T-600 and was in the market for a brand new truck. In the mean time my wife and daughter blindsided me with wanting to open a tanning salon. So there went the truck money. We have been home since Christmas...one of the perks of being a O/O. Anyway salon is finished and business is booming so its time for me to hit the road. Momma is going to stay around home for a while to make sure our daughter is managing the salon the way we want her to. I was able to scrape enough money together to purchase a 99 Volvo 770 with a 12.7 Detroit, 13spd from the original owner. Truck is currently at shop being inspected for the highway and should be ready in the morning. I have to tweak a few things and will hit the road Thursday if all goes well and be in Joplin this weekend. Excited to get back but it will be different running solo instead of team. I will head back home after a month to pick up Irene and then it will be back to teaming. Ya'll be safe and hope to cross paths with all of ya soon!

That's great to hear Randy! I hope to run into you guys sometime, figuratively... I can't wait till we own our own truck! But, don't pick on my pornstar! She is taking care of me pretty well!

Frank the 2 happiest days of our Prostar was the day we got it and the day Conway took it from us and put us in the 780 Volvo...lol
frankgh Thanks this. -
All the volvo's are autos. They won't put us newbies in one. Gimme a year, I'll buy one! Trish just started crowder today. 5 weeks till graduation.
Brunsco, NotTheAverageTrucker and paul_4lp Thank this. -
Great to hear...she will finish just in time to give you a well deserved break...lol. Best of luck to her and tell her John acts like a hard ### out there at Crowder, but his bark is worse than his bite.

I don't know if she will see John much, she is doing the full course there and I think John just does boot camp. He is a great guy though, it would have been nice to meet Chubs!

Double Yellow thanks for the link...I am still not quite sure on the CARB rule...I have spoke to a couple different people from that organization and received totally different answers from each one. I am not sure they are all on the same page...really frustrating. From what I have read if it is a single truck operation it had to be retrofitted with a filter by this past January 1st. More than one truck and up to 3 then the 2nd by 2016 and 3rd by 2017...again different answers depending on who you talk to at CARB. So the easy thing for me is no Cali runs...doesn't hurt my feelings a bit. When the time comes that I am ready to buy new then I will resume my travels to that state. Maybe by then they will all get on the same page. Some friends of our's who run an 07 Pete 387 called just last week and were told by a CARB rep that if they were caught in the state they would be fined and towed to the border at there expense...not worth it to me!

There are two small fleet exentions -- the first is just like you said, small fleets of up to 3 trucks have a staggered compliance schedule from 2014-2017.
The second is for small fleets who have been denied a loan for a retrofit OR a new truck.
OOIDA's landline now reported that this 2nd deadline was Dec 2016: http://m.landlinemag.com/Story.aspx?StoryID=26926#.U3toM3PnaBZ
CARB is saying Jan 2017 on the website and says the final rules are being drafted now & will be released this summer. Either way, enforcement will not begin until July 2014 for those making a good faith effort at buying a new truck.

As a solo, I don't even plan to run California except to get home. But since you'll be eventually teaming again, California runs will probably be more tempting.
