Just did my 6 month review.
They had a list of all my Log Violations.
Not a really big deal, there weren't many.
We are on ELogs.
Anyways, there were a couple Cummulative On Duty, Violations.
After I asked our Safety/Log person about it, she said I went OVER my 70.
Now I was under the Impression, I AM ALLOWED to go over my '70' as long as I don't DRIVE past 70.
She told me that's incorrect...who is right?

The law says you can work an unlimited number of hours, but can't drive past the 70th. Companies like Schneider have a policy against even being on duty past it.

Kinda off topic but can someone also explain the 8/2 split sleeper berth? It seems complicated to keep the hours straight. Like figuring your hours after each break period . thanks in advance
mje Thanks this. -
You have 5 hours left on the clock. After 8 continuous hours in sleeper birth you get those 5 hours back and the clock is stopped. You can now drive up to 5 hours. If you drive those 5 hours and take a 2 hour off duty or sb break you will complete a 10 hour break. Subtract the hours you drove between the 8 and 2 hour breaks and that's how many hours you have. In this example it would be 6.

Easy way to do spilt- don't. It will screw up your logs and leads to log violations when you do it improperly. Just do 10's and run easy.

OK thank you. Yeah its easier to just do a 10 and run lol
mje Thanks this. -
I never split until I went on elogs.mje Thanks this.

You're allowed 70 hours. you can't drive past your 14th hour and cannot drive after 70 hours. If you don't know the regulation, these inspectors will mess with you - anything to give you a ticket.
Balakov100 Thanks this. -
You didn't break any law but you might have busted co. policy. Have her clarify then serve her a plate of crow.
Balakov100 Thanks this.
