the worse is when you sleep all night at a receiver
then wait all day to load then drive all night
i can never sleep in the day time
if gamma gets too tired he needs to just tell dispatch he is so tired he feels unsafe
they wont say a word
usually just make a later appt or swap
either way you get back to running days
come this weekend will probably be too many hours on a load anyway
because of places not open on the holiday
every holiday while i was there was messy

Welcome jungHo! It is nice to have you join us! I am glad that everything is working out for George. I have never got to take a trip with the King. The first couple of years that he was a driver I was still working, we also have two daughters still at home, a home in the country and a few critters. The company he is with now would allow all of us to go with him if we wanted to ......but I am afraid he would put us out at the first rest area he came to!
Then I would have to beg some of my online friends to give us a ride home! Seriously, I would like to go with him occasionally and maybe some day will be able to get everything lined up to do so. I think it will be great if you can go with George some.
There is no trick to not missing them .....I still cry sometimes when he has to leave. I finally realized that is the way it is supposed to be. I don't ever want to get used to him being on the road or take for granted what he does to provide for his family. Once I started thinking of this job in those terms I was able to be more accepting of him being OTR. We don't take his time at home for granted .....I try to have things done so that he doesn't have to do hundreds of mundane chores .....so sometimes things just don't get done. Even that is hard on families sometimes ....there are so many things that would be better if he was there to help.... There are many good things also ....in a strange way it can bring you closer. We have many long conversations when he has stopped for the day. If he were home every evening we would probably be watching tv or something else that didn't require keeping one another's minds engaged ....it makes you stop and really tell one another about your day.
I better stop for now ....everyone will tell you that I can go on and on and on
. If you ever need to talk just send me a message and I will send you my phone number.
jungHo, oliver2, dennisroc and 1 other person Thank this. -
in other words she never shuts up

i am sure the king is thankful for the breakHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
He said he wont be able to run like this much longer due to having to do a reset which nobody wants lol. I'll let him know about letting them know about feeling unsafe. I know he wont do it if he feels he can't, he's pulled over before, but he also wants to prove himself so doing a good balance I guess to safely do both.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

believe me the receivers will

I remember those nights! I usually am up til about 3am anyway so it wasn't too bad for me ....but after that he was on his own. If you are like me when you finally go to bed you can't sleep because you are worried about him and know he is tired. Pete gave the best advice, ajacks. If gamma gets too tired he just needs to stop and notify them. TransAm is really good about that ......any time you tell them that you can not safely continue they don't give you any problems over it. They may ask when you think you can continue, but that is a reasonable question. Also correct is that holiday weekends are slow and he will most likely be able to get back to days by this weekend.

gamma also doesnt have to do a full reset

It is the time of year for this one more eBay buy. I keep one ribbon way up under the passenger side dash and one ribbon way up top, above the bunk, out of the way, to one side.
They are effective.

Couldn't resist haha. I remember being in Bangkok and all the street vendors selling all sorts of bugs to eat. I prefer the crickets myself.
I am in the Philippines right now and our niece is eating BBQ chicken intestines and feet on a stick, yummy. Last night they have Balot ( duck embryo ) it's like eating a bird right out of the egg. Did you try this in Thailand ?passport220 Thanks this.
