I have an '86 359 with a flat top bunk that I bought a little while back. It's in really good shape but it appears to have no insulation or soundproofing whatsoever. Any suggestions on what I can use to make it a little quieter and cooler/warmer?

iv thought of gutting the interior of my old fld and spray foaming it and then putting it back together

We dynamatted the floor of my 379 years ago. It cut the noise by 10 dbs IIRC. I would pull the interior and put some by the stacks in both the cab and sleeper and the headliner also. Some on the firewall will also help.there's lots of options out there if you don't feel like dropping 400 bucks for dynamat. I used peel and stick roofing insulation on the floor of a vw beetle and noticed the difference.

Read up on insulating materials. Then make your choice. Some materials help with both noise and heat. Some help heat/cool but make the noise worse. Some will reduce the noise and do nothing with the heat/cool situation. I put spray foam inside the struts of my KW sleeper. Then I used a thin shiny silver bubble like insulation from Lowe's for the walls, roof, etc. That 1/4" insulation material but it H_ _ _ to get the upholstery back in. That combination helped a great deal but I will probably use Dynamat or Hushmat for the cab.

Is the Dynamat etc stuff good for thermal insulation as well or just noise?

I'd say both heat and sound, plus you can find varieties tailored to your needs.

Dupli-color also has aerosol and brush/roll-on bedliner that may help to some extent.

The dynamat we used was mostly for noise but I think the newer stuff does both. In the bug I put foil backed bubble insulation on the inside of the roof because it didn't have a headliner and it worked well. The factory heat insulation in my 379 looks similar.

    Here's what you do:
You go and get like 50 chickens and pluck there feathers and stuff them in the interior.
When have you ever seen a chicken be cold or hot?
