Means just what it says. We have had several that have been back and forth to Mack/Volvo for warranty. Same lousy drivers that tear up every vehicle they get it. Going 100 yards from rack to BOL house. Floor it. Slam on brakes. Another 100 yrs to security gate. Same high school driving. Then same next short distance to main road. Then every stop. On or off. No technique or intent to take care of equipment. Company has started watching the hot rods. Have weaned a few out. Now they can monitor them quite easily on Vortex. Will get them for repeated tailgating speeding even though I think it is more that they are costing company lot of money with out of service vehicles. Whatever no one worries too much. If someone gives you the keys to a 1 or 2 yr old truck and trailer, twice a month wash privileges, and the chance to make some decent money and you don't have enough respect to do your pre-post trips, report problems instead of continuing to line your pocket and leaving them for your opposite driver, etc then to Hell with you. There is always another truck to use. But that normally means locating trailer, going over it, connecting, checking cables or air depending on type, etc, etc etc,
That is paid at a lower hourly rate. If the loser had taken better care of issued truck you would be out making $25-50+ hr depending on what load you are given. Some people just don't care. They didn't pay for it and they are the ones we try to get rid of. -

Just curious, is the Vovlo iShift and the Mack mShift basically the same trans setup?
-
I think so but from what I've heard about Mack's is Volvo pretty much makes everything for the trucks. Might be a Volvo Trans and Mack programming module controlling it. Or vice versa.
-
That is my understanding of it.

Drove a DT12 several hundred miles today . Not bad , skip shifted when it could . Not as smooth as me but not bad. No real jerking at all . Creep mode worked very well. Grabbed for the shifter a few times that was not there. And stomped a clutch that was missing once or twice. My normal truck had to go into the shop, and if have a Road Team event in the morning. So they tossed me the keys to a 2015 , that had 83 miles on the clock. Be back in mine Monday .

I did a little net surfing on comparing Mack and Volvo, and they are essentially the same thing. Parts are interchangeable between most of the Mack and Volvo power train components anymore. Makes sense since Volvo bought up Mack several years ago.mattbnr Thanks this.

Volvo brought Mack's corp head quarters to Greensboro . It's just right of Volvo Heavy Truck Of North America . Got them on a short leash?
