It would NOT surprise me if one's professional driving career did effect their personal auto insurance. However, I personally think that the two should be separated. A lot of truck drivers RARELY ever use their personal cars, except to drive to or drive home from the terminals on their off time.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Might not be one. Insurers are regulated by the Insurance Commissions of each state.

All I know is a Montana buddy crashed his POV Saturday night, collected a DUI to go with his failure to control, lost his job Monday morning, and his personal premiums ~doubled when his license was reinstated, complete w/CDL.

If it was last Saturday the speed of license reinstatement would have made the "news" as a record.

If you received a citation that shows up on your MVR, then you may see an increase in your personal insurance premium. But if the collision resulted in a claim but no citation was issued to you, then you will likely see no increase.

The only problem you would have is if you got a ticket. Then with some infractions it would make sense. Like DWI, speeding, and any other driver error. But then try to get you insurance reduced if you've had no accidents and have been to a defensive driving course like the smith system. They will not hear you.
