It appears you handled it like a true professional, and your boss stood up for you as well. So I should say it sounds like you dont need some camera fixed on you while you perform your job!! Best of luck to you in the future and stay safe fellow driver![]()

Why not put cameras in all motor vehicles not
just trucks? Why not test everyone that is involved
in a motor vehical accident for alcohol and drugs?
Why just truck drivers? Why not put a tracking GPS on everyone so they always know where you
are or have been? Just how far are you willing to
let these companies and the government invade your privacy and personal business in the name of safety? -

I think it was Jefferson who said: The rights of trucking professionals to demand carriers not equip their trucks however they see fit may not be infringed!Lux Prometheus and Meltom Thank this.

So I'm trying to get used to the idea of having a driver facing camera once I start. Now we're talking sleeper facing cameras - that you are disciplined for blocking - even after hours?
I bet the driver facing cameras will quickly go industry wide. Sleeper facing cameras - not a chance. There are so many types and reasons for lawsuits it will never happen. This is a major liability to the company, not to mention offensive. I'd love to hear the company explain why they need to have full view of an off duty driver. Unbelievable. -

Glad you were covered. But it didn't take a driver facing camera to do that did it? I see most drivers that are against driver facing cameras are in general not against forward facing cameras. So there is room for common-sense middle ground on this issue.
What that news report shows me is dumb drivers will continue to do dumb things even when they know there is a camera pointed at them. They even pointed out that phone records proved more violations then the video evidence did.Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
This would be EXTREMELY offensive for a male driver, and EXCEPTIONALLY offensive for a female driver. There is NO NEED to watch them when they are NOT driving and are in their living spaces, in their bunkers.

When prime puts an interior facing cam in my truck ill rent a car, clean the truck out, and drive myself home. That truck will never move a foot afterwards I wont even drive it out of the shop bay after the install. Due to the nature of the small sleeper company trucks we have any interior facing cam will likely show more of the sleeper than i will tolerate. Not to mention the fact it could be used to hold me criminally or financially liable for distracted driving say i was taking a drink or changing the radio station as mentioned above. Theres no way in hell that would put my assets in that kind of danger i worked way too dam hard out here to have what i have. Its the companies job to have that kind of responsibility its like not they share their profits with me. Ive been keeping my ear to the ground for awhile now for other opporunities. I will however stay with prime until i have the cam in my truck. So there you have it Prime a safe driver, accident free, 3 years of experience, never late anywhere, i get good fuel mileage, i work 345-350 days per year, walking out the door when that thing is installed.

What type of bus do you drive, a school bus, a city transit bus, or an OTR bus as Greyhound / Trailways?
