You guys better mind your p's and q's to make sure you don't get fired in the first year. Sounds like a shady deal for a newbie. Might not be too bad for someone with experience.
xlsdraw Thanks this. -
You'll have no problems getting hired.
Good Luck -
I have some experience and if a contract is required I'll sadly pass , fresh from the street students I think should go to a starter company even if its just a few months to learn whats out there , I made the mistake of leasing having never dealt directly with a DM been out of the seat since November and the road is calling me back after much research Windy Hill seems to be a good fit for ME maybe not anyone else
thanks 123456, Colin89 really appreciate the support , not much on this board so I do truly appreciate it!
if I do get on I'll be blogging my expereince since no other Windy Hill drivers have, least I can do to pay it forward , Ive spent days countless hours reading others journeys with other carriers and good bad or ugly it helped me decide what or who would be best for me!
thanks guys BE SAFE out there!123456 Thanks this. -
I've been here at windy for awhile. What y'all need to know...

No! You do not pay the fuel cost.
You do sign a 1yr contract at the beginning. If you quite in the first year they can go after you for the cost for training, background check, mvr check ect. When i was hired I was told its just a we have to do it thing and they won't go after you for that. I know a few drivers that quite in their first year and weren't charged. They will charge you for damages you do to the truck tho.Last edited: Jun 5, 2014

I won't say what I have in an attempt to be fully anonymous but
Equipment
international 9200s fully automatic, no room sleeper
Volvo 630s (I think not completely sure) fully automatic with good space in them
Frightliner columbiss auto shift 70in condo plenty of room
Frightliner cascadias 10spd decent room
International prostars 10spd small sleeper
Frightliner Columbia gliders 2014 body with older reman drive train
Some the older truck are high miles but still run... starting out usually you'll get one the old automatics, treat it good u get a nicer truck. Personally I can't stand the automatics. The new gliders are problematic, and if you ask me windy hill maintenance sucks. Florida drivers have it worse on the maintenance side because they have to come up to Marshfield for service sometimes sitting around there for a day or two for basic maintenance, wi drivers also get service in Marshfield but can go home instead of sitting in the yard of motel. The only thing the Florida yard dose is wash the trucks basically.irishlad Thanks this. -
spoke to Donna today very nice lady very upfront , not sure what Im going to do , my issue at this point is 4 weeks of training while Im not the most experienced driver Ive driven enough to feel confident enough to test out of training with a trainer , Im humble enough to know Im far from perfect but 4 weeks is about 3 weeks to long for me to team for 450 ...will post up if I decide to take orientation next week, thank you everyone for the 411 on the company
everyone out stay safe its summer and lots of distracted 4 wheelers on the road next few months
