Probably fairly irrelevant at this point John, but I was cruising through my facebook statuses this morning and this story popped up out of Pittsburgh, poor guy.

It it can happen to any one of us. How's everything going? -
Just woke up. Been one helluva long night/day. We got to Richmond at 12:30 this morning. Lee took some of his things, jumped in his car and drove home to the house to do some husbandly things while I dropped the load we had, fueled, hooked to the new load and take a shower. I was done and leaving the yard a 3am. Lee left his car at his house in gordonsville and I picked him up at the walmart nearby at 4:15 this morning. I met his wife, then loaded up his things and started out. Like any good husband he did his thing, got some clean clothes, his wife went and bought him some food to bring, got a few things he forgot, kissed her goodbye, then we left. He drove from gordonsville to Grayson KY where I took over. Right now we are in Indiana somewhere on 64, with 1005 miles to go to Colorado Springs. ETA is 7am local time. This is going to be a long day and night ......
The Challenger, Lonesome and gntorres61 Thank this. -
I just want to give 2 thumbs up to my immediate supervisors who I deal with on a daily basis. If you all know anything about me it's that I won't hold back, good or bad. Right now it's good. I've learned very early on in this business that communication is key. I knew on my way into Richmond last night that my final drop in South Jordan Utah was gong to be an issue. It's 580 miles from Colorado Springs and they stop receiving at 3pm. I'm real good with math and I quickly figured out that the second drop wasn't going to happen. Knowing how Abilene operates, I knew they won't hold a team truck over the weekend, especially for 3 pallets. At 3am this morning I sent an email to Tim knowing when he gets in at 7am it would be read. I told him what I was up against and what my ETA was to Utah. I just got a message back that they worked out having me drop this off tomorrow at a local trucking company for them to deliver it on Monday. My job for the most part, be it training as a team or running solo is predicated on one important aspect, communication. Plus the fact I handle my business in a professional manner, and the same goes for Tim, whom I must say is tops at his game. I've been real lucky here and when I was at Calex, I have had two very good dispatchers.
Truckin' Monkey, Lonesome, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm doing good John, still plugging away up here in Inverness, Fl. I might be making some changes, or at least contemplating some changes in the near future, I kind of feel like I'm at a dead end job which is never good, I understand the economy is still recovering and Florida will always be Florida(I know you understand me when I say that), but to have the work ethic I have and the clean record that I have should constitute a little more than just getting by, either way it's just a hurdle I have to overcome to move on to the next step of this journey we call life.
Keep it safe out there, I always turn my head when an Abilene truck passes me on 75 or the turnpike but I've yet to cross paths with ya'.gntorres61 and JohnBoy Thank this. -
I've got to give Tim two thumbs up too JB. You were right about that guy. He is very good. He puts up with me, and believe me I can be a pain in the behind.
JohnBoy and gntorres61 Thank this. -

Yep. I have said it myself here. Tim is a stand up guy, a performer, and gets it done. I trained 2 days with him and we had fun doing the job. He keeps it light hearted but serious at the same time. Tim has a bunch of years handling drivers and it shows. I sit behind him now.
gntorres61 Thanks this. -

Here in Colorado Springs at a Fed Ex data center getting my first drop off. I delivered 21 server cabinets that are 8 feet tall. The dude was expecting us and we got here right on time at 8 am. Not bad, left the Richmond yard 3am yesterday and arrived at 8am, 1660 miles.
