Their are quite a few coffee maker's that run off 12volt's. Road-pro makes one, I have no clue if it's any good though. I had a Black and Decker model that would make 10 cup's, though I never actually made coffee with it. I used it to make hot chocolate and noodles and to have hot water to clean my other cooking things with. The water was hot enough, but I'm not even sure I could make coffee that is drinkable....lol.... not the coffee pot's fault. Google "12 volt coffee maker"... their will be a whole list.

Those 12V one's take forever and are made cheaply.

I guess go in the store until you can get an inverter. Coffee makers are one of your biggest wattage hogs so you need a big inverter. Even at that stability and room is a problem.

I got to where I like instant coffee and flavored creamer. I would heat the water in the microwave. It was better than nothing. I still drink instant at home when I don't feel like making it.

If I had my way there would be truck parking at all Starbucks. :)

User error. The pot has to be positioned perfectly under the drip. Cone filters only. Works fine with truck idling.

12 volt limitations are going to be very hard to overcome, sorry. Once you get into 1500+ watt inverters, a kettle is probably the most useful appliance you can have if you can acquire a taste for instant coffee.

This has a 1000 watt heater element, not too big to require a huge inverter, but fast enough to boil water in a few minutes to make coffee, oats, grits, ramen noodles, etc

BTW, a french press with boiling water will make as good a coffee as you will find anywhere if you don't mind the clean-up issues.

We used to take and make coffee in the bunk and then set an instant coffee can on the dash before you took off before you drink coffee put 2 scoops of instant coffee on your tongue and drink. You'd be wired for a few hours.

Agreed with the instant coffee, get some kind of 12v water heating unit, think burton makes one and away you go...after you wait for the water to boil that is.
