I went to marten found out they didn't run toll roads and walked out bussed myself back to Missouri, their still calling me but I don't answer

 

I can understand your decision, but I would have asked that question before I went up there to orientation. I am sure they will thank you emphatically on your DAC report. i.e. " Quit/Dismissed during orientation" Hopefully that does not hurt you down the road. A company that size does not use pre-pass or let you use toll roads? Seriously?

So if you know they're idiots why do you hire them? I also agree that there is a LOT more to the story than ruining a "patch of grass"

 

There is so much more to this story. Not defending Marten by any means....it's a schidt company according to most employee's ( both current and former ) I've ever talked with and is CEO'd by what is obviously a prick with issues. IMHO of course.

 

Marten is a big company with seats to fill. So they'll hire someone who can kinda breathe and has a body temperature somewhere in the 90s. And this is where it starts. Put these mindless nimrods into 80,000 lb vehicles with no supervision and you have things like this. I'm not for more regulation, that's not what I'm saying. But the fact is, and it's a fact, that the industry keeps lowering it's hiring standards and the brainless have taken notice and for the last 20 years they've been flocking to get into trucking because they think that they can just ease their way to a paycheck. And some of them are starting to figure out that they have to work and do the right things and they aren't happy about it.
