The number one cause of vehicle accidents in this country, whether 4 wheelers, 18 wheelers and everything in between is following too close. We all see it every day and virtually all people escape accidents every day due to this dangerous driving habit.
Head down the road any day, night of the week and you will find MOST vehicles following too close.
I've been guilty of it as well.
I'm not throwing stones, just making an observation borne in years of driving.

Wow, just wow. You do realize this could happen to anyone here including YOU! No matter how safe and responsible you think you are people do make mistakes. Not likely this guy was under the influence or driving wrecklessly, he most likely made a mistake that he will live with the rest of his life. Some get lucky when they have there moment and some dont."semi" retired, Joetro, Lux Prometheus and 1 other person Thank this.

shake it off; a true dogpiler. kill em all let god sort em out type... you'd do better to just save your energyDna Mach Thanks this.

How does anyone know he did not have some type of a seizure or another type of medical problem? I am not making any excuses for the truck driver. If he is guilty of negligence or something he could have prevented he deserves to be punished. Give him a fair hearing and trial before you decide he
is guilty. This kind of accident happens every day
you just dont hear about it unless the media thinks
they can make money off of it. Wal Mart is a very safety oriented company. They are not a bottom
feeder outfit.AfterShock, semi retired semi driver and Davem3TF Thank this. -
Far more entertaining to play devil's advocate to watch all the drippage.
bigdogpile and AfterShock Thank this. -
Yeah it's a tough crowd. Me? I'm hoping that something is found that will put the driver in a better light. I've got to meet quite a few WM drivers over the course of about 4 months pulling their trailers. They are some of the nicest, stand up kinda guys you'll ever meet. That aside, I'd be hoping for ANY driver under the circumstances... and so far they have yet to say anything whatsoever about distracted driving... in which case I wouldn't be so understanding!Rocks, Davem3TF, Dna Mach and 1 other person Thank this.

Me too man, I love these guys. On a long enough timeline, everything gets settled. I hope the driver wasn't contributory, but if so... pay the piper, move on. In the meantime, we all don't know jack, so best to wait and see.

I am not quite sure what your talking about. A very
weird statement if I ever read one. I suppose this celebrity accident news really wets some peoples
appetites. Have a nice day buddy... -
Innocent till proven guilty
Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
How do you expect to disqualify yourself from jury duty with that kind of attitude?Joetro, Infosaur, AfterShock and 1 other person Thank this.
