There's got to be more to it than that. Having a suspension will not prevent you from getting hired. How long ago was it? I had a suspension a few years ago for FTP. Once I payed the fine my license was reinstated and I haven't had any trouble finding a job.

I'm clearly not the one misunderstanding: "post hoc" and "post hoc ergo propter hoc" are 2 very different things; to try to make it simple for you, one is an evaluation technique one is a rhetorical fallacy. Philosophy 101 stuff...

Beginning anything is a singularity, and yet in are extrapolating a pattern from that; weaksauce.

Also, I didn't suggest anything; just summarizing what's well documented in behavioral medicine.

So take your own advice, and good luck sorting it out.

Actually, it's Critical Thinking 101 stuff. Philosophy doesn't teach one to directly examine the logical thought processes of others in day to day life, it's an overblown history class. So stop with the condescending attitude when you have obviously not even taken either class and just read a few descriptions on a website and given yourself an e-degree.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc is typically shortened to post hoc. They are one and the same, and your transparent attempt to cover your butt has failed miserably.

While post hoc could be debated as a logical fallacy for defending a drug addict that wants to drive a commercial vehicle, I would more likely use the slippery slope argument, as it is more relevant to the discussion at hand. A fact you would no doubt know if you had any first hand knowledge of these terms you like to pretend to understand.

The reason for that is that assuming a person who makes the poor choice of using drugs will continue on making poor choices for the rest of their life is the textbook slippery slope reasoning. Not post hoc.

The first suspension from the mishandled ticket was May of 2011. The driving while license suspended citation was September 2011. The first one is now outside of three years from issuance although it didn't get dismissed until months later once I figured out what had happened.

The driving while license suspended is the biggie. When I applied for WIA grant and school a couple of months ago they were within the three-year window. My WIA advisor has now pulled the money even though I passed drug testing/physical and have DOT health card because she thinks I won't get hired - in spite of the pre-hire letters I acquired at her request. Needless to say I was pissed off.

At this point I have no grant so I either find a way to bankroll my tuition on my own, get my CDL and hope the pre-hire letters pan out or wait until my MVR doesn't make me look like a total loser, which I really can't afford to do.

I just realized another problem might be that I didn't reinstate my license until this past February when my applications were in the works and I had my tax refund to pay for it. My 1993 Ford Escort died in August of 2012 so with no car to drive there was no urgency to fix the license. Obviously if I had any inkling then I would be making this career choice I would have done things differently.

    Thanks.

Lol, bringing ad hominem style attacks into it just makes things more convoluted. I get it; in your pov, your opinions are more relevant than well established medical facts. Back to the point, let me know when you get your MD, we'll engage further. Have fun...
