    Ah good ol 666. I think they changed it to 491 in 2005 or so. Maybe a bit earlier. Cortez was home for a loooong time (live in TX now) and I remember those signs used to get stolen a lot. In fact I very well may have one in storage, but can't say for sure. ;)

    In new Mexico the road runs through parts of the Navajo nation, and there are many tales about ghosts and sightings on that stretch of road.

    If you want to kill an hour look up skin walkers and either be freaked out or be entertained haha.

    They also widened the road throughout the years, it's nearly double in size it was originally, which has made it safer--yet many locals argue the reason for less crashes was due to the number change.
