Go read the posts about USA. Then think long and hard about them as well.

There's no guessing to it; he was with CRST.

Don't make the same mistake twice.
Do you have endorsements; tanker/hazmat, TWIC, passport? If so there are several good jobs waiting for you. Georgia drivers are in an excellent area for the top paying jobs and don't have to settle for less.

If US Express is so good, why isn't your friend still there? USX is a team company and lousy for solo drivers.
    Here's where the money is:
    Tyson Foods
    Melton Truck Lines
    Rinaudo Enterprise
    Schnieder Bulk (tanker division)
    Superior Carriers
    Trimac
    SVTN
    CTL Transportation (OTR division)
    Tidewater Transportation

I think you'll find as I did, theres a lot of great folks on Truckers Report. Im kinda new here myself but I enjoy coming here and listening to the many different opinions of not only the truckers but also the folks who are still just trying to decide whether they want to truck or not. Ive already learned quite a bit about trucking just the short time Ive been coming here.

I was a trainer at my last company and I was appalled at the attitude of most of the trainers. I try to be honest and always ask before a student got into my truck what they needed to work on. I always let them use the computer and tried to teach map readin( as gps does not always work) I did not like doing team miles but like about 600 a day so they could drive some and I could always make up the difference if they got tired. Hang in there, there are good people out there and sometimes it takes time to find a good company or trainers. See if the next company is willing to give you the phone number of your trainer so you can talk to him and make sure you will get along enough to learn if not request another trainer. Good luck

I was right it was CRST! I dodged a bullet with them, I almost signed with them, then got a call from my EDD case worker saying I was eligible for the WIA funding!

Here's another company to look at, smaller 70 truck outfit running between Florida/Southeast & West Coast/Pacific Northwest. Mostly teams though.

    Benny Whitehead Trucking

Could also try to get away from the dry van/reefer crap, too. Flatbed and tanker generally pay better and usually (with some notable exceptions) offer much better treatment and focus more on safety than most of the dry van outfits I have personal experience with.

Best move I ever made was jumping over to flatbed. Second best move was moving to a company that ran regional and paid percentage. Something to consider.

I really hate to point something out because I don't want to come off as a know-it-all when I try so hard to build a reputation of being a ######## but... your comment of

makes me take you into my virtual woodshed for a discussion.

Never gossip about an employer to another employer. No good and a lot of harm will come from it. It is the recruiters job to be sympathetic to you. He is trying to sell you something. He has zero control over your career once you are in the door. He is not your mother, he is not your friend, he is a company man who is making a living at your expense.

You are trying to start fresh but you have someone at your new job that knows you have had people problems before. It is baggage you could have and should have left behind. I don't think it is a major deal and I am actually posting this for the benefit of others. Keep a smile on your face long enough to get on down the road. JMHO

Mike, I'm an old hand & can't give you much info about today's trucking world of trucking. Yet I can tell you many of the new OO's can be the know-it-all-truckers. After a couple of years they will usually come down to earth. Please don't let them stop you if that's what you would like to do.

Keep on keeping on, from your post I believe you will make a very good truck driver.
