what you don't get, is that I chose that load and at the rated stated. So, anything above that rate is a kindness; the way I see it anyway. That's the deal with the Choice Program. Sometimes you make the wrong choice........it happens.

Great thread! Lot's of very good information! Well written and extremely helpful!
Been out of trucking for 25 years and just returned in Jan 2014. Currently a company driver for Roehl, with plans of purchasing sometime in 2015. Been perusing several of the SNI Choice threads and many others looking for a place to land. The information you have provided has put the SNI Choice program near the top of my short list!
Thank you!
Will keep following and if I see you on the road I'll say hey!Jar-Head Thanks this. -
On the SNI CHOICE PROGRAM -
ITS ABOUT THE REVENUE ...
not the miles ...
When a driver chooses a load it should be based uponREVENUE PER DAY - PROFITS .. and not
HOW MANY MILES I GOT TODAY ..
In my earlier posts it says in BOLD ..
FORGET ABOUT BEING A COMPANY DRIVER ... I probably should also expand that to also say ..
FORGET ABOUT BEING ON A MILEAGE CONTRACT ..
To many times a contractor or Company driver moves over to a % of revenue contract and never seem to grasp the fact that it's about the REVENUE and not the MILES .
In the situation with DIP - he choose the load for 2 reasons
1. It went through the house
2. The revenue made since for the work involved for his business .
He he knew it had the code DHU beside the load and even though he accepted the load SNI gave him a additional $ 300 for his efforts . NORMALLY he would have only got what the load paid . The reason he posted the other 300 was he was trying to show GOOD FAITH from SNI to understand it was a out of the ordinary DHU ( driver hand unload ) and they compensated him an additional 300 for the added troubles .
On the CROSSROADS ( the load board ) in the details section .. It has a estimated time that it normally takes to OFF LOAD the product based on the previous drivers experiences . THE REASON - he got the additional fund is because the time grossly exceeded the-time allocated to complete the task .
This is is why you look at the details of the load - DIP did and he accepted the terms of the load .. And he was rewarded extra pay for the time over the allotted time spent .
The BEATUY OF IT ALL IS ....
He he had a CHOICE ... that's what makes this program GREAT !!!!
JHrussellkanning, Newtrucker48, tynodine and 1 other person Thank this. -
Congratulations, that was precisely my point. $150/day sucks.
This matter was closed before you had to go and publish a newsletter. Good job reviving the dead horse, now it's back on life support. -
THANKS , I just try to be informative and give a birds eye view of the program and took a slightly different approach to the way I presented this thread . I felt if you had a wealth of information going into the program about the inter dwellings of it and the process , then it would make things much easier and relieve allot of STRESS and ANXIETY of the UNKNOWN of getting started and how to be successful in this program .
Ive had several take me up on the PM and have been able to TWEAK there business models a little to help become a little more profitable and some allot more .
I try to make myself Avaliable to help all I can ..
Thanks again for the kind words

you don't get it and you still don't ...
The 300 was EXTRA .......
His is rate already included off load pay and time for the offload ...
Thats the reason for the book cause apparently you need to re read the chapter
his rate was roughly 3.00 before the 300 then it jumped to 4.39 .. -
SECONDLY ...
Who are you to say it's laughable or not good when was the last VAN LOAD..
1. Not a JIT
2. EXPEDITED
3. RUN HOT OR OVER HOS
That you got 4.39 revenue and got right at 1040 in revenue for 2 total days and 237 miles and it cost you around 120 in fuel costs .
You were bashing a rate that had decent profit .. Just because it wasn't your cup of tea .. Does not make it BAD or UNPROFITABLE . Nor make the SNI CHOICE MATRIX badnightgunner and harlycharly55 Thank this. -
third
my my post was not directed at you but towards an audience of folks that seem to think it's all about
MIles, MILES , more miles ..
I am one of the most non. Aggressive people you'll ever meet ... That list was not directed to reopen any issue just to place clarity on the subject . I no where in there implicated anyone just provided clarity in my eyesscythe08 Thanks this. -
This is what gets me. Reading these threads driving running 600 plus 6 days a week. Why you can make more running short loads and b home more instead being stuck at a oc or truck stop waiting for hours.

As a person who works milage on the Bulk side am curious to see if it can work out for bulk. Having pulled % as an o/o in the past I have a firm understanding of how it is supposed to work.
I look forward to seeing how you work the system to your advantage.
