But, Schneider says in their radio ads that I can make up to 81k *sarcasm*

I'd be interested to know what expenses I would have, that I would be reimbursed for,,,, if I asked.

I just looked up my numbers for last year:

    22,600 Gross + 9,956 Per diem = 32,556
Started in Feb as a new driver. It's not great but could be worse and would have been higher if Nov/Dec of last year weren't so bad. This year I should do at least 40-45k, but I feel like thats the max I'll make driving for SNBC.

Thanks Chinatown. That makes a lot of sense. The orientation is one month and I am guessing they start you off slow for a couple of months to make sure you can handle it so you almost lose a quarter to being new. Even then I'll still be so green I cost myself money on occasion but that comes with the territory.

Thanks Storm. The more I am seeing, the more I think I should be expecting 30's in year one until I get my feet wet.

Handog, that sounds awesome! I hope I am as lucky as you. Can you give some examples of expenses that I could be reimbursed for that I may not be aware of when I first start?

ncdriver, thank you for sharing that! I am hoping that my start time allows me to roll before the weather gets bad and things slow down some at the end of the year. 40-45 isn't terrible for year two and it seems like after year two, unless you love SNBC, it's time to move on. But I did see where people are getting raises as they go so who knows. I'd love to hear more as the year continues for you.

I made over 45k my first year so it's doable.
