i dont like way how volvo is presenting it , they say, we were inspired by automotive races, so we invent new gearbox which nobody have ever seen in truck industry,

fact is that zf had it earlier only zf customers still did not demand it , also mitsubishi have it but on smaller trucks with 6speed

i am bit sceptic about it , it is still most reliably even in cars, also since truck spend most of its life in last gear, other clutch would have to be opened, this would put lot of strain on its components i think it is still to early for it

i have question for australian members:

why do you use ballrace turnable on 5th wheel. i am trying to figure that out for long time but it does not make sence to me just add unnecessary weight and height

I don't think it will be offered on our market but I would not buy one for the first few years till it has been tested in the field.I have been following it as I find it interesting but am skeptical about reliability and cost of repair. Hope I'm wrong.

    thank you

    except reliabiliy

there is something that dont make much sense to me, it is again 12speed , in recent years they were removing gears to reduce number of gearchanges , but now it makes no difference if it is 12 or 16speed , i think with larger number of gears and engines designed only for it, with very narrow rpm band with high efficiency in this range they could make good results, since already many components are new for it they could make complete other box , there was big talk about itorque but now they dont talk about it aynmore

i presume the actuation bearings must have some sort of forced lubrification/cooling otherwise this clutch will last only
for a couple of KM's (from presentation to the workshop)

    i am confused about something

Rockwell axles become Axle tech, this is what Terberg trucks use , but when searching about Rockwell axle wiki says it become part of Meritor

btw somebody told me that they are same as in Iveco trucks, ?but they dont look same?, and he say they are #### so owner of replace them with ones from DAF on Terberg truck, all Terberg trucks here suffer from axles problem

Meritor made axle for Volvo Renault,Iveco,

i see sometimes Ginaf trucks with Sisu axles and sometimes with DAF ones ,they seems to be good, except with parts here impossible to find (i am talking for hub reduction ones, small hypoid on road tractor tend to have problems on difficult roads and heavyloads almost as man hy1350)
also i see sometimes Terberg trucks with some Sisu axles

but i am not sure does DAF make its own axles or somebody make them ?

is there anything i miss? is there any other axle build by Meritor?

interesting to see that Meritor build largest #### and one of best axles ,ok best ones are Volvo design, but still are manufactured by Meritor

Daf axles are build in Belgium.
They have a factory there where all cabs and axles are build.
