I hear Jacobson Transport, Des Moines, IA fleet avg on their freightliners is over 7 mpg pulling vans.
Best cruise rpm is around 1300-1400 rpm properly geared.

My friend has a C12 on a Day cab Freightliner Columbia and he gets just over 6 when pulling tankers for the Kenan Advantage Group.

I have a 430hp c12 in my 99 kw t600 and love it. I average a little over 7 mpg pulling a 48 spread axles reefer up the and down the east cost. But thats at 14.75 rpms, witch in my truck thats 68 mph. It pulls great and have had no major break downs in 3 years now. A buddy of mine has the same truck but with a 3406E 475hp geared up almost identical to mine. pulling on the same lane he can't get anything beter then 6.5 mpg. The funny thing is stop light to stop light i can completley in front of him. but his truck is stronger 50mph to 70mph. He used to make fun of my little engine until we made a couple runs together. Now he wont stop telling everyone what an awsome engine the c12 is. the little engine that could and dose!!!!

Does anyone have an idea what a 2002 C-12 380hp, with an overdrive 9 speed, pulling light loads (avg 22,000 - 26,000lbs) expect to get for fuel mileage?

What gear ratio are you all using with the C12?
