The name of the company. I don't know why companies are ashamed to put their name in the ad.

Pay structure and dispatch details. You can tell a lot about a company by how they compensate and route their people: no hhg, no forced new york, no forced per diem.

    Ditto the above.

Plus if it is a company driving position I would want to know about the truck(s) I would be driving. Year, Make, Model, **APU**, etc.

The name. Some company's run ad's continuously. That shows they have problems they will not address.

The name and what I'll be driving. If it's not what I want to drive I won't be there. There's plenty of places I can go that pay better or the same I can drive what I want.

I always avoided gimmicks. Signing bonuses and promises to pay mileage and safety bonuses. We are professionals. Just put down your mileage pay. Pay us all the same or pay those who have been with the company more. But don't make the pay based on some silliness that is out of our control. Bonuses for driving so many miles in a month. That one really gets to me. I saw it as something that was never going to happen because you knew that dispatch would never allow it to. A carrot you could not ever reach.

There is never a reason to sale something to someone if the product is a good one. Build a better mousetrap, or come up with a sane, fair and easy to understand pay plan and drivers will beat a path to your door.

Actually when you are out and about you see all kinds of companies running here and there. Then when you decide to maybe put yourself into the job market you may recognize some of those same companies. What you need to do then , is be on the look-out for the companies you don't see advertizing in the "help wanted section".......those are the ones you need to follow to their next stop and maybe strike-up a conversation with the driver....get some info and maybe get a reference / phone contact person's name from them....good companies most times let their drivers do their recruiting for them....we are our own best just judge...or our worst....

Your a "safety officer", in the industry, but not a Driver.?

I can believe the recruiting department is always asking/looking for a fresh "angle".

A few things missing in this business.

    "RESPECT"!

that means "PAY" not so much mileage.

But for all the other "WORK" we are required to do.

And all the "TIME" we are required to be at work.

    New equipment. 36-48 months max.

Bonuses tell me the job sucks or management is disrespectful. (why else would you need to offer the bribe).

If you tell us who you work for it might generate more useful responses.
