I know everything at truck stops is a bit overpriced, so I was wondering if anyone knows the most economical place to buy a CB. Radio Shack?

No WAY would I buy any CB equipment from RS. You have many very good places to purchase CB's on line. And at times some truck stops do run good sales on radios and antennas. What are you looking for? And how much do you want to spend? With that info several in here can help you.

    Here's one good online place:

    www.gijoeselectronics.com

Don't let them do any modifications though. By your radio then take it to a CB shop you trust.

I recommend Connex, Stryker or general lee brand. You will pay for great quality that will last.

There's a awesome CB buy sell and trade group on facebook. Great guys with a lot of knowledge. I'm about to buy a connex 4300 off there. Just search CB buy sell trade and its the first group. Now if your not a trusting person, eBay usually has good deal. I found a uniden bearcat 880 for 75 bucks on eBay last week.

I have one, and I love it. You're not going to get 200 Watts and 5000 channels out of it. Add a good microphone and leave it stock. If you absolutely must have more power, use a separate amp.

Nope; $180 is list. It's $136.93 at Amazon.

Probably the most economical place to buy a CB would be online. But be careful who you buy from, as some of the online sellers are known to booger up the radios as part of a "super overmodulating bleed over into your speakers and your neighbors too" deal.

Also check Craigslist in your area, often CB's are sold there in the electronics section. And then there's eBay, but buyer beware on eBay, though I've had good sucess.

You can also sometimes find CB's at yard sales for $10 and sometimes even $5.

    Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this.

I know where there are several good 29s and 25s, tuned up and ready to go worth the money. PM me if your interested. (no they are not mine and I don't stand to make a dime on them if they sell.)
