Yes, you can use any treatment and that is between your and your medical provider. What you fail to understand is that if SNI doesn't like your method of treatment, they don't have to allow you to drive their expensive equipment.

Schneider won't tell you that you can't treat sleep apnea the way you want. What they can and will tell you is that if you don't use a CPAP machine you won't be driving a pumpkin truck. What don't you understand about that?Big Ugly Thanks this.

So you think it's only Schneider doing the testing. Well u better check again and if think Gordons doesn't test your wrong. Companies are getting in front of the eight ball. Regulations are coming and its not pretty. I hate my cpap but I've gotten sorta used it. I was told either do the test or clean out the truck. It's there company there rules. You agree when u sign up. You don't want cpap become a owner operator make your own rules.
Big Ugly Thanks this. -

Attacking peoples weight, unless they are SERIOUSLY overweight, is also a very slippery slope. Coming out of the Marine Corps, I have seen many very fit people who have been considered overweight. I have also seen "fat" guys beat the pants off of skinny people at PFT/CFT's. I am a fairly slender person myself, but as I age, the old spare tire keeps getting bigger. Not a lot I can do unless I spend hours and hours a day in the gym, which I dont have any extra hours to do this. Not to mention each person is built a little different. What may be fat for one person may actually be the perfect weight for another. There are just too many variables involved.

A good friend of mine who is in amazing shape, a Martial Arts instructor, PT stud and in his early 30s has sleep apnea. He was always tired and it was getting worse. They actually woke him from the test long before it was over and said he met the qualifications thats how bad it was. They also told him, sometimes, though not a lot, people with severe apnea simply do not wake up one day and he falls into that severe level. It isnt something to play around with.

This whole 'sleep apnea' thing is a joke but money driven....
The companies that sell the sleep machines are in bed with too #### many companies....aka kick backs. -
I don't know, man, ever since I got my cpap my sleep has improved tremendously. My gp recommended it when I was explaining how tired I was in the morning and occasional waking headaches. I'm not a particularly big guy, but apparently I have a vindictive tongue that tries to choke me in my sleep. Sleep apnea has some pretty serious medical research to back it up, some showing that it can seriously reduce your life spam.
No doubt there are elements of this sleep apnea thing that are money driven, but isn't everything?Lux Prometheus and bergy Thank this. -
Schneider has a new Sensa Trac system on the Qualcomm, so when you snore it sets off a critical event to safety. This is why you keep getting the surveys done. They also recorded a 'hard blanklet' throwing incident. You need to calm down.
Stuka, KW10001 and Lux Prometheus Thank this.
